The Mural Writer, written by LaShelle VanHouten, is a moving memoir about a man who believed he couldn't love, yet was chosen for an amazing purpose to teach us all about love through the art of marquetry.

“This is a true story, a memoir about a peculiar man I came to know in an unusual way, who became my unlikely friend. His grueling voyage through a life that should never have been so difficult prepared him for a purpose so unexpected, so magical, that it led me to mine: telling his story to you.”

The foreword for the Mural Writer was written by David Crouse of Crouse Entertainment.  David Crouse is an Emmy Award winning independent film producer of "The Magic Never Ends: The Life and Faith of C.S. Lewis", as well as "The Reagan Presidency", "Beyond the Gridiron: The Life and Times of Woody Hayes", "Positive Thinking: The Norman Vincent Peale Story", and many more.

The Mural Writer was edited and published by Paula Berinstein, producer and host of The Writing Show. Paula Berinstein (Paula B) is the author of seven geeky nonfiction books, including Making Space Happen and Business Statistics on the Web, and numerous magazine articles. Paula has been "Publishing Trends" columnist for Searcher magazine, ran her own research business serving the entertainment and other industries for 15 years, and has been a computer programmer, systems analyst, and librarian.  She has a B.A. in English and an M.L.S. in library science with a specialty in information science, both from UCLA.

"When I first heard what LaShelle had in mind for this book, I knew I had to be involved. Ed's is an incredibly moving story, and The Mural Writer is that unique book that grabs you from the first page and keeps you reading until 3:00 in the morning. Everyone should read it.

LaShelle is a natural storyteller. Somehow she manages to select the perfect events to keep readers hooked. She has wonderful instincts for pacing, and her description is a direct line to the heart. I can't imagine a better person to tell Ed's story, and I can't wait for her next book!
Well done, good and faithful writer!"
